Celebrating and supporting grandfamilies in the Northland

A laptop screen displays a website titled "Projects" with a section for "Minnesota Grand-Families," featuring information about the role of grandparents raising grandchildren in the community.

The Opportunity

As the number of grandparents stepping into primary caregiving roles for their grandchildren increased, we saw the need to share the unique and valuable experiences they bring to raising the next generation. In addition to highlighting their stories, we also saw an opportunity to shed light on the support and resources they could use from their community.

The Solution

In collaboration with like-minded organizations across Minnesota, we developed a powerful series of educational videos as part of the Northland Diversity in Aging Series (NDIA). These videos share the personal stories of Paul, Fran, and Carol while empowering others to recognize and support other grandfamilies in their community.
