Resources for combating isolation and increasing connections

The Opportunity
In the early days of DAS, the COVID-19 pandemic led to a social isolation crisis, with older community members being among the most impacted. As the negative impacts on mental and physical health intensified, the need for meaningful connections—through conversations, shared activities, and community support—became more important than ever.
The Solution
To combat social isolation and increase social connections, we developed and distributed the Connect! Booklet in partnership with the University of Minnesota Extension and Zeitgeist. These booklets offer valuable resources to support groups, virtual classes, and other local opportunities, ensuring older adults can easily stay connected and access the resources they need most.
